In short, it talks about Andy Serkis’s excellent performance as Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and poses the question of whether Serkis deserves an Oscar even without ever seeing screen time.
After all, Serkis does an amazing job capturing the smallest expressions and movements of his role as an ape, but we have to keep in mind that technology (as well as other people) are also responsible for what translates onto the screen.
