Sometimes, the greatest things in life happen spontaneously.
Tonight, as my mom was about to cook dinner, I randomly asked her if she would teach me how to make fried rice, and not just any fried rice, but Mom’s Super Special Super Secret Awesome fried rice.
She was pleasantly surprised and eagerly taught me the intricacies of preparing the perfect fried rice and even confided with me her super secret recipe.
What had started off as a mundane, rainy Sunday night became a fun (and useful) cooking session, and I got to spend some quality time with my mom.
Oh, and the fried rice turned out pretty good, by the way. My brother definitely enjoyed it. 🙂
