Merry Christmas! Visited San Diego today with my family and some family friends. Dad, Mom, my brother Alan, George, Michael, and I squeezed into the family SUV at 11 am, and off we went.
We arrived at SD in about two hours, with some rest stops in between. Not bad. We drove through the UCSD campus first. Apart from some hikers, not a soul was in sight. We took some pictures in front of the Geisel Library and headed out.
Our next stop was Seaport Village, a family favorite. It was a lot smaller than I had remembered, but it was still nice walking among the small shops and enjoying the ocean air.
After a quick lunch stop, we were on our way to Hotel del Coronado, next to the beautiful Coronado Beach. The beach was perfect – not too many people, so tranquil, and very refreshing.
The guys minus Dad went exploring, climbing the rocks to get the best view of the entire beach. We relaxed while looking out at the crashing waves below us, took some pictures, and chatted.
The inside of the hotel was just as nice, complete with a huge and nicely decorated Christmas tree, plus some costumed carolers to brighten the mood.
We enjoyed some ice cream from Moo Creamery (white chocolate and waffle cone for the win). Soon, we were on our way back to Los Angeles.
The drive home went by pretty quickly, with hardly any traffic. We stopped in Rowland Heights for dinner at a family favorite – Garden Cafe. Ordered a filet mignon, medium. It was cooked perfectly – juicy, tender, and full of flavor.
I was stuffed, but made it back home. What a wonderful day. I had a really fun trip to SD, spent quality time with family, and ate amazing food. This was definitely a Christmas to remember.
Trip video below. Enjoy!

Very interesting post. It’s worth thinking about it.
