I’ve been working in SF for three weeks now, and I haven’t had many chances to try out new restaurants. Yesterday, I did.
Biked with my manager and another co-worker to Split Pea Seduction for lunch, about a mile away from our workplace. The place was a small takeout joint, located in the sketchy part of town and offering few amenities save for some wobbly high-seats and funky drawings.
The food, however, was delicious. We decided to forgo their split pea soup, and instead ordered cheeseburgers with caramelized onions, dill pickles, lettuce, and special sauce on extra-toasted sesame buns.
We also split an order of homemade chicken nuggets, salt and pepper french fries, and a Heath Bar ice cream sandwich. I would say the highlights were definitely the burger and the Heath Bar ice cream sandwich – juicy, tender meat followed by a blissful sugar rush. The chicken nuggets and fries were a bit overpriced but were still pretty good.
All in all, the lunch was great and we biked back to the office content and ready to finish up the day.
