I’ve heard plenty of good things about Gregoire, rated one of the Bay Area’s top take-out spots by SF Magazine. Located in the famed Gourmet Ghetto in Berkeley, a few shops away from Cheeseboard, this little restaurant is big when it comes to taste, serving delicious French and American gourmet food.
While pricier than your typical Berkeley food, Gregoire is worth every extra penny. Fresh, organic ingredients cooked using “classical French cooking techniques” make for a dinner to die for.
I ordered their Willie Bird smoked chicken & mushroom over mini penne. It was cooked to perfection, with a good blend of meat, penne, and sauce – enjoyed every last bite.
Gregoire also offers seafood such as scallops and crab, NY steak, lamb chops, and their famous crispy potato puffs, which are fried mashed potatoes.
This take-out restaurant is a must try for anyone in the Berkeley area. I will be going back sometime for their equally-delicious lunch offerings.
