Today, I went to IKEA and Target with my friends James, Sophia, Anna, and Hesung. We all moved in pretty recently (except James), so we were in dire need of furniture.
Of course, the first thing we do when we get to IKEA is eat. Swedish meatballs, complete with gravy and lingonberry jam, never tasted better. Our appetites satisfied, we started looking around.
I ended up buying a nice, sturdy computer desk for $20 and a floor lamp for $8. Such great steals. At the Target, I bought a full-length mirror for $6 and bathroom mats for $12.
With these bargains in hand, we went back to Berkeley for an Italian dinner, some hang-out time at the apartment, and an assembly session.
Took us two minutes to put together the lamp, very easy set-up. The computer desk took a bit longer, about thirty minutes, and we had to backtrack a few times because we put panels on backwards. But in the end, it turned out great. It’s very sturdy, looks a lot more expensive than it is, and I’m happily pounding away at my keyboard right now without the typical wobble of cheap, low-quality desks.
I’m really happy with my purchases, and I plan to continue to look for more furniture. Now, I just need a bed and mattress and I’ll be pretty much set.
More goodies soon at randomtidbitsofthought.wordpress.com.
That’s a cool lookin’ mouse.
